We’re Luke and Annie. We’ve been prioritizing experiences over things since we first started dating, but when my (Annie’s) dad passed away suddenly at age 58 we realized there is no time like the present to change up our lifestyles and pursue our dreams. We sold our house and most of our stuff, quit our jobs, and purchased a used Four Wheel Camper Hawk for our Toyota Tundra. We spent one year traveling around North America camping, hiking, climbing, paddling, snorkeling, and visiting as many national parks as we could.
Now we’ve downsized to just our truck, an ARE topper, and a pop up screen tent. While we may be less nomadic, we still strive to make travel a priority by spending what money we make on experiences rather than more things.
Luke traveled a lot with his family growing up and was able to achieve the feat of visiting all 50 states by age 30. He has background in turf grass maintenance and he been in the golf course industry for the past 7 years.
Annie grew up in a log cabin in the country that her parents built themselves. Her family also took her camping and hiking a lot, but it was her student teaching in Auckland, New Zealand that awakened her hot foot. She has taught junior high English and drama club for five years.
